The fastest growing trees - for Geo-Engineering

In my previous post on GEO-ENGINEERING, I pointed out that my top favorite GE technique is AFFORESTATION/REFORESTATION. Trees capture CO2 from the atmosphere and the carbon becomes part of the tree.

In the worst case scenario, when the tree dies, either it decays in the presence of exygen, or gets burned, in both cases the carbon being returned to the atmosphere in the form of CO2. But even so, there is no net positive in CO2 emission.

In better case scenarios, if the tree is used as lumber, the carbon would remain in the wood, and when the wood needs to be discarded, it could be buried where O2 is absent.

For top efficiency in carbon capture with trees, we need to plant the fastest growing trees. Here is a database of the fastest growing trees for various climes - in the background of climate change, for your interest.
